Privacy Policy

Timoni — Cyprus driving theory exam preparation app
Last updated: 6 June 2026

This Privacy Policy explains what information the Timoni mobile app (“the App”, “we”, “us”) collects, how it is used, and the choices you have. The App helps you prepare for the Cyprus driving theory exam by practising questions and tracking your progress with a spaced-repetition schedule.

Timoni does not require you to create an account, does not ask for your name or email to use it, contains no advertising, and uses no third-party analytics or tracking SDKs.

1. Who we are

The App is developed and operated by Ilya Skriblovsky (“the developer”), an individual developer. For any privacy questions you can reach us at ilyaskriblovsky@gmail.com.

2. Information we collect

2.1 Anonymous installation identifier

When you first open the App, it generates a random identifier (a UUID) and stores it on your device. This identifier is sent with each request to our server so that your learning progress can be saved and returned to the right device. It is not linked to your name, email, phone number, or any other real-world identity, and it is not an advertising identifier. If you clear the App’s storage or uninstall the App, the identifier is removed from your device and a new one is generated on the next launch.

2.2 Learning activity

To provide the spaced-repetition feature, we store, associated with your anonymous installation identifier:

2.3 Feedback you choose to send

If you use the in-app feedback feature, we receive the message you write and, only if you choose to provide them, optional contact details so we can reply: a name and one contact handle (email, WhatsApp, Viber, or Telegram). To help us troubleshoot, the feedback also includes your App version and platform (for example, Android or iOS). Providing contact details is entirely optional — you can send feedback without them.

2.4 Technical/server logs

Like any service accessed over the internet, our server may automatically record standard technical information when your device connects, such as your IP address, the date and time of the request, and basic request details. These logs are used to operate, secure, and debug the service and are retained only for a short period.

What we do not collect

3. How we use the information

4. Legal bases (GDPR)

Because Cyprus is in the EU, we process personal data under the General Data Protection Regulation (GDPR). Our legal bases are:

5. Service providers and third parties

We do not sell or rent your data. We share data only with the providers below, strictly to run the App:

Provider Purpose Data involved
Our hosting provider Runs the server that the App connects to All data described above, as processed on our server
Airtable (Formagrid, Inc., USA) Stores the question content shown in the App; a copy of feedback you submit is also saved here so we can review it Feedback message and any optional contact details you provide
Telegram (Telegram Messenger Inc.) Sends the developer a private notification when new feedback arrives Feedback message and any optional contact details you provide

These providers may process data on servers located outside the European Economic Area (for example, in the United States). Where that happens, such transfers rely on the safeguards offered by those providers (such as standard contractual clauses).

6. Data retention

We keep your learning progress while you continue to use the App so that it remains available across sessions. Feedback is kept for as long as needed to handle your message and improve the App. Server logs are kept only briefly. You can ask us to delete your data at any time (see “Your rights”).

7. Your rights

Under the GDPR you have the right to access, correct, delete, restrict, or object to the processing of your personal data, and the right to data portability. To exercise these rights, contact us at ilyaskriblovsky@gmail.com.

Because your data is linked only to an anonymous installation identifier, we may ask you to provide that identifier (or send your request through the in-app feedback feature) so we can locate the right data. Note that clearing the App’s storage or uninstalling the App removes the identifier from your device, after which your previous progress can no longer be associated with you. You also have the right to lodge a complaint with the Office of the Commissioner for Personal Data Protection of the Republic of Cyprus.

8. Children’s privacy

The App is intended for people preparing for a driving theory exam and is not directed to children under 16. We do not knowingly collect personal data from children under 16. If you believe a child has provided us with personal data, please contact us and we will delete it.

9. Security

We take reasonable technical measures to protect your data, including encrypted connections (HTTPS) between the App and our server. No method of transmission or storage is completely secure, but we work to safeguard your information.

10. Changes to this policy

We may update this Privacy Policy from time to time. When we do, we will revise the “Last updated” date at the top of this page. Significant changes may also be announced within the App.

11. Contact

If you have any questions about this Privacy Policy or your data, contact us at ilyaskriblovsky@gmail.com.
